I have two apps I typically use when I want to go beyond the filter. You have to pay for both, but they are worth the investment!

A Beautiful Mess ($.99)

The creators behind the app, Elsie and Emma, write for the blog A Beautiful Mess and this blog is quite the opposite of its name. You probably have seen their DIY tutorials go viral on Pinterest. These two sisters are the real deal and constantly churn out the most creative content out there.

The doodles, phrases & borders are enough to keep you entertained!

My biggest advice is just to play around with the app. There have been numerous updates to sort out the original kinks.

Rhonna Designs ($1.99)

Rhonna Ferrer is a mom & teacher. She is so so so creative. These features are crazy! If you are an avid scrapbooker, this app will be your best friend. The phrases are great and what I love to use the most!

This app has almost everything you can think of and when I discovered the numbered decals, I knew it would be perfect to use for Benji’s monthly photos. I don’t know about you but I wish I was like all those moms I see on Pinterest who are able to sit their child in the same chair with the same cute outfit and a cute chalkboard with their stats every single month. Ugh but my reality is I had no time! So, I grabbed whatever relevant photo I had, slapped the decals on there and voila, I felt creative!
