Imagine a place where your daughter can meet other teens and learn life skills in a warm and friendly environment. This is not an imaginary place, but a local program for girls in the Tampa Bay Area offered for free by For The Girls International (FTGI).
A Mission To Help Teen Girls
FTGI’s mission is to awaken purpose, ignite passion and mobilize women and girls through various programs offered in the community. One heartbeat program is SHINE. This outreach helps elementary and middle school girls shine during their pre-teen and teen years. In addition, this ongoing, personal development program is crafted to be inspirational and provide a practical and experiential approach to learning.
Learning Life Lessons
As the participants develop an understanding of their identity, face their fears with courage, and discover their purpose, they learn lifelong lessons to take with them into adulthood. Business leaders from FTGI’s Better Together Network come alongside each girl in a personal and practical way, while teaching essential life skills.
Business Leaders Share Talents
The business leaders volunteer their time and talents to mentor the participants. Recent topics have ranged from learning etiquette to practical math skills for teens.
Upcoming topics:
- Your Choices Determine Your Destination.
- What Makes A Person Strong?
- I Am One Of A Kind.
