A Fun Play Day for the Entire Family: Playing Unplugged

Bring the entire family to the largest play date in Tampa Bay. On Saturday April 18, Largo hosts the biggest outdoor play date of the year. My passion is healthy lifestyle and learning through play so I encourage everyone to come and play at this fun family friendly event.

Turn off ALL electronics and head to Largo Central Park on Saturday, April 18 from 10-3pm for Largo’s fourth annual Playing! Unplugged Event. The City of Largo Recreation, Parks & Arts Department is teaming up with local businesses and medical professionals to emphasize the importance of free play and creativity in our youth at this free family-friendly event.

Unplugged… features a variety of hands-on activities and play stations throughout Largo Central Park, where kids of all ages will be set free to play with items such as cardboard boxes, fabric, buckets, ropes, paintbrushes and so much more. There will be multiple play spaces to visit including themes such as construction, adventure, archery, dance, and art. I know my kids will love this even though they are older; any opportunity to get messy.

The Boy Scouts of America will be assisting children with tree climbing and zip lining. Jerry Wunsch, a former NFL Tampa Bay Buccaneer and Seattle Seahawk, will be at the event encouraging healthy lifestyle and exercise.

Playing! Unplugged seeks to educate parents on the many benefits of free-play, including the positive impact it can have on leading a healthy lifestyle and staying active. Hope to see you there. For more information, click here.
