Are you looking for something fun to do for Halloween? Sea World Orlando kicked off their Halloween Spooktackular this weekend. Our family was invited to go check it out this past weekend and had an amazing time.
SEAWORLD’S HALLOWEEN SPOOKTACULAR TAKES PLACE FROM 12 – 8 P.M. DURING WEEKENDS IN OCTOBER (5-6, 12-13, 19-20 AND 26-27) AND IS INCLUDED WITH PARK ADMISSION. DURING THIS SPLASHY DAYTIME EVENT, CHILDREN AND ADULTS ALIKE WILL BE IMMERSED IN AN UNDERWATER “FANTASEA” FILLED WITH TRICK-OR-TREATING, DANCING WITH SEA FAIRIES AND PUMPKIN FISH, ARTS AND CRAFTS AND MORE. THERE’S NO BETTER PLACE TO DIVE INTO AN OCEAN OF HALLOWEEN FUN!
My oldest didn’t want to dress up, but my 4 yr old decided it was time to test her new Super Girl costume she just got for Halloween. When you enter the park, I suggest you start by heading right towards Wild Arctic and Shamu’s Happy Harbor. Along the way there are special Halloween games, face painting, and Spooktacular characters waiting to greet your family. Be sure to pick up a trick-or-treat bag to collect all the goodies along the way. Treats include tootsie rolls, air heads, lemonheads, mentos, and even a few healthier options like Pop Chips and fruit snacks.
For my oldest his favorite part was the candy (of course), but I think my 4 year old liked the special charachters the most. She got to meet some candy witches, a jelly fish, an angler fish and a mermaid.
Don’t forget to stop by Penelope’s Party Zone for dancing and arts & crafts all day long. You can also have your kids decorate a special spooktacular cookie before they leave. You could honestly spend all day just taking in all the Halloween Spooktacular events, but we decided to spend some time with our favorite “characters” in the park by visiting the dolphins, turtles, penguins, sharks, and Shamu! It’s been over 5 years since our family has visited Sea World, and this was my daughter’s very first trip. She shares her mama’s passion for the ocean and sea animals, so it was special to see her meet them for the first time. Perhaps one day she’ll follow my dreams and become a trainer (I opted for a degree in aquatic biology because I wasn’t ready to move to Florida in college).
Depending on where you live in Tampa Bay, it may take anywhere from 1-2 hours to get to Orlando, so it’s not a bad day trip. We usually stay the night in Orlando because mom and dad are too tired to drive home after the long day of playing. This time we made it a day trip and the traffic really wasn’t that bad.

Disclosure: Sea World provided tickets for our family to attend this event. We had a wonderful time and appreciated the opportunity. The opinions expressed in this post are my own and not those of Sea World.
