Easy and Adorable 4th of July Treats!

I love the 4th of July and I’m always looking for quick, easy and inexpensive snacks to make the holiday even more fun, but I added “kid-friendly” to my search for this year’s Independence Day celebration and found some fabulous ideas to share with you…

(Compliments of Six Sisters’ Stuff)

You’ll need a box of Little Debbie’s Swiss Cake Rolls, patriotic icing (red, white & blue), and wire confetti for decoration.

Simply remove rolls from wrappers, place up and down on serving tray, decorate with icing, and stick wire confetti into top for an extra pizzazz.

If you’re looking for a healthier selection…

You’ll need a watermelon, some blueberries, several 6” wooden skewers, a star-shaped cookie cutter and a cap of a chapstick tube.

Just slice the watermelon into one (1) inch thick slices and use the cookie cutter to make several stars, then use the cap of a chapstick tube to make a hole in the center of the star, place a blueberry in the empty hole, press a skewer into the watermelon to hold the blueberry in place, and serve.

Flag Kabobs

You’ll need blueberries, raspberries, mini-marshmallows, and twelve 10” wooden skewers.

***If you don’t want to use marshmallows, then you can substitute banana slices.

Simply thread four (4) blueberries, two (2) mini-marshmallows, and two (2) raspberries on each of five (5) wooden skewers, then thread four (4) raspberries and three (3) mini-marshmallows on each of the seven (7) remaining wooden skewers to form the American flag, and serve.

And, a beverage for the whole family…
