The calendar says it’s fall and pumpkin spice everything, but one foot out the door reminds me I won’t be seeing any fall leaves this year. Growing up in the Midwest I long for those endless Fall days. When the leaves started changing from green to yellow and eventually burnt orange to bright red. Letting the Fall breeze pour into the house through an open screen door. Going apple picking and to the pumpkin farm, complete with apple cider to warm up afterward. Then going home and making fall eats and treats.
Living in sunny Florida is great, but we sure miss out on all things Fall. So when Fall rolls around I am determined to soak up every smell, flavor, and feel of the season! Clearly, I’m not alone with retailers becoming pumpkin pie spice obsessed. Every store, coffee shop, and restaurant I go into features “pumpkin-something”. It’s that flavor of Fall on our lips and tongue that ignite those wonderful memories.
So let’s head to the kitchen and add some new recipes to your meal plan. These 25 fall eats and treats recipes will help you really enjoy the Fall season with the smell of nutmeg, cinnamon, and allspice right in your very own home.
