Moms, it’s almost here! SCHOOL! No need to fight over composition notebooks in the Target™️ aisle though- we’ve got your comprehensive tampa bay back to school guide ready. Not only are we hooking you up with all the info you need (start dates, supply lists, etc.) but we have a list of all the back to school bashes across the bay for one more bout of summer fun before the bell rings again.

Start Dates:

Here’s a list of the start dates for 5 local county school districts:

  • Hillsborough County: August 12th
  • Pinellas County: August 10th
  • Hernando County: August 10th
  • Pasco County: August 10th
  • Manatee County: August 10th

Supply Lists:

Here’s a great website for finding your child’s supply list for the year. All you do is enter your zipcode, click on your child’s school name and their grade to see the list. Otherwise, just visit your school district or school’s website for more information.

Health Fairs:

Hillsborough county is having several back to school health fairs to get new students their required vaccines and routine physicals for free. They are also offering Covid-19 vaccines for individuals 5-17 years of age. They are happening every Saturday until Aug 6 at different schools throughout the county. Look here for times, locations, and to register.

Back to School Bashes:

Here’s a list of 5 local back to school parties for kids and families, many of which include school supply giveaways! Click on event titles for links to more information.

Back 2 School BashFri, July 29: Back to School Bash Palm River Point Inc., Tampa 

Head to this event in Tampa for free school supplies, backpacks, and physical exams for any student K-8. Starting at 11 a.m. this event will have special guests like local musician Tom G and County Commissioner Gwen Meyers. Check it out at the Palm River Family Services Center.

JACK HARTMANN BACK TO SCHOOL BASH AT MIXON FRUIT FARMSSat, July 30: Jack Hartmann’s Back to School Bash at Mixon Fruit Farms

“Youtube sensation” Jack Hartmann joins Mixon Fruit Farms in putting on this year’s Back to School Bash. The event will include a live performance by Hartmann and admission to the farm’s “Amazing Play Place” until 3 p.m. Visit their park full of bounce houses, obstacle courses, a 20ft inflatable slide and more. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased here.

Sat, July 30: Florida Penguin Productions Back to School Bash Countryside Mall

Florida Penguin Productions is hosting a back to school bash at a mall near you! Check out their eventbrite page for a list of dates and locations in their back to school bash series. July 30 they are visiting Countryside Mall in Clearwater with an event full of performers, kids activities, local sports mascots, an interactive scavenger hunt and a giant business expo with businesses offering services like after-school care, tutoring and more.

Sat, July 30: Hillsborough County Schools Back to School Fair at Westshore Plaza

Head over to one of Tampa’s favorite shopping centers for a back to school event sure to impress. Save on school supply purchases this year by shopping on Sales Tax Holiday Saturday. From 10 a.m to 2 p.m join hillsborough county schools and their special guests, Captain Fear and ThunderBug to shop, play and enjoy a day of fun before school starts in August. Get there quick! The first 500 kids in line get a FREE backpack with supplies to get you ready for the classroom. The event is free, and you can easily register here.

City of Clearwater, FL | HomeSat, Aug 6: Clearwater Back to School Bash

Join the city of Clearwater in celebrating the start of a new school year. The Clearwater Beach Recreation Center will host an all-day party full of pool games, barbeque food, and live music for free.
