Details: M.O.M’s Friday Night Market was created to enhance the downtown New Port Richey community and to add shopping and entertainment options on Friday evenings. The majority of the vendor fee proceeds will be donated to Pasco Pet Fest, and Guardian ad Litem Foundation. The Market is held weekly on Friday, from 5 to 9 p.m., 12 months out of the year.

Back to School Fair


The Back To School Bash is Florida’s Largest Family Expo and it’s now part of the Back To School Fair at Westshore Plaza! A tradition for many families. The Back To School Fair provides an opportunity to enjoy a variety of kid-specific exhibits, enjoy live family entertainment and provides informative and educational information for the parents for the 2015-16 school year.

Remotely Operated Vehicles for Youth and Familyoriginal

Youth and families will have an opportunity to build a small-scale, fully functional Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) and use the vehicle to complete a fun science mission in a pool. Participants will also gain some knowledge, skills, and abilities to enhance their curiosity about ROVs.

Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs) are an ever expanding type of submersible vehicle used in ocean exploration. This session will focus on ROV basics and give participants the opportunity to have some hands on time with an ROV. We will also explore the type of work that ROV technicians do and the technologies they use. And learn about the many career opportunities available in the marine technology field.

This session is geared toward families and/or individuals. However, workshop participants should be middle school age or above.

Art Spot for Children


Every Saturday the Museum offers a free drop-in art program from 11a – 2p. Come and let your children explore their creativity by creating an art project. No registration required.  Our projects will vary week to week to tie into the exhibition on view at the museum.

Great Connections at Great Explorations



Great Explorations Children’s Museum will open early for children with special needs and their families to enjoy Great Connections, a sensory-friendly event at the museum on August 9 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Great Explorations will close to the public, offer discounted admission, modify lights and sounds, and provide a “cool down” room for families who need to take a break. My Smart Hands with Maria will be our guest presenter this month teaching guests about sign language!

FREE Yoga In The Park
Yoga Downtown Tampa and Tampa Downtown Partnership offer a one-hour FREE Yoga class in Curtis Hixon Park each week. This class is designed for all levels and is offered every Sunday at 5:00pm (at 6pm in winter months during daylight savings time change). If you have a mat or towel please bring it along with your water bottle to the north terraces. Come out and experience Yoga while watching the sunset over the city skyline in the beautiful Curtis Hixon Park!
