Still having trouble deciding what to do for Mother’s Day? My family usually visit the beach or have a nice lunch at home. If you’re like me and want to try something different, I have plenty of ideas to help with planning this special day. There are countless things that you can do in the Tampa Bay area. There’s something for moms who enjoy staying active, a foodie, or lover of the arts and crafts. Here’s my selection of ways to have a nice Mother’s Day celebration in Tampa Bay with your family.

The Florida Aquarium: Moms get in free with the purchase of a full paid admission purchased at the Aquarium ticket office. 9:30 am – 5:00 pm; Adult: $29.20 / Child: $24.95 / Senior: $26.45 / Children 2 and under are FREE.

Dinosaur World: Mom receives free admission with a fully paid child’s admission at the door. See website for daily rates and excavation rates.

FITNESS FOR MOM

The Great Mother’s Day Race Tampa 5K Run/Walk: This race is held at the Al Lopez Park near the Raymond James Stadium. You’ll receive free race pictures, dry-fit shirt, race medal, custom bib, and goodie bag. There’s also awards and prizes as well as food and drinks available. $25 for children 8-14, $40 in advance (Online registration closes at 6 pm on May 10), $45 day of the race. Stroller-friendly race.

The WOW Medal Mother’s Day 5K: This race is held at the Palm Harbor New England’s Ale House. A free Michelob Ultra for everyone over the age of 21 is included in your registration, as well as a RUN FLORIDA promotional tech shirt, finisher’s medal, and post-race snack. The Mother’s Day 5K is limited to 300 participants of any age or ability and is completely paved. Registration is $30.

Third Annual Mother’s Day Goat Yoga: Bring your yoga mat and enjoy a beautiful and serene setting with some friendly baby goats. Each ticket purchased gets you: One entry to Grady Goat Yoga, complimentary champagne, mimosas, Bloody Mary drinks (21+) and bottled water served before and after class, lunch (vegetarian options) and a Grady Goat Foundation or Grady Goat Yoga sticker. 10:00 am – 1:00 pm. $55 per person.
