How to Make Delicious Apple Pie Jello Shots

Thanksgiving is fast approaching y’all so let’s make some apple pie jello shots! Here are some things that I am thankful for:

Our family

Our health

My friends

But mostly I am thankful for my sister and my brother-in-law cooking magazine-worthy feasts every single Thanksgiving.

I try to contribute. I mean, my husband and I do choreographed dances for the sis and bro while they cook. Also, I monitor possible deep-fried turkey explosions from the window while I drink mimosas. And I always make sure to forget to check that the pies don’t burn. I basically carry my entire family. I’m somewhat of a manager you could say. I regret nothing.

This year I’ve decided to step up my game. In the form of APPLE PIE JELLO SHOTS. Bring a mold of jello to keep your gatherings classy. My list of culinary strengths is slim. So I figured that even if you can’t toast bread, you can at least be the master of gelatin. So here we are.

SHOT GLASSES. This recipe will make approximately 30 small shots (1.65oz) OR 10 large shots (around 3oz) as pictured above

CINNAMON STICKS, because they please me aesthetically

1 CUP Cinnamon Whiskey (I used Fireball)

1 CUP Hard Apple Cider (I used Strongbow)

2 CUPS Apple Cider

2 PACKETS Unflavored Gelatin (I used Knox)

Whipped Topping (I used Reddiwip)

Caramel Sauce (I used Hershey’s)

Prepare shot glasses with cinnamon sticks on a platter for easy transfer to the fridge.

In a medium saucepan, bring 1 cup of hard apple cider and 2 cups of apple cider to a boil on high heat.

Reduce heat to medium and SLOWLY whisk in 2 packets of unflavored gelatin. Whisk until totally dissolved into cider mix. DO NOT BE ALARMED if the gelatin chunks up and becomes gooey, continue to whisk on medium heat until dissolved.

Remove from heat and let cool for 10 minutes.

After the cider has cooled, add 1 cup of cinnamon whiskey to the mixture. Stir.

Pour into shot cups, leave some room for the whipped topping to be added after. ***I transferred the liquid into a pitcher for easier pouring.

Place in the fridge uncovered. Let it set for 4 hours.

Remove from fridge, Add whipped topping and a caramel drizzle.

Prepare to dazzle that fam with your apple pie jello shots. YOU, maker of jello, are the star now. Turkey WHO?

Happy Thanksgiving!
