Independence Day is almost here! There are so many local events happening in the Tampa Bay area. If you’re looking for some family-friendly events, we’ve got you covered! Here’s a guide to 4th of July celebrations in Tampa Bay. The list includes some of the best fireworks display and festivals.

Brandon

Brandon’s July 4th Parade

Date: July 4 at 10:00 am- 1:00 pm

Cost: FREE

Details: Bring your folding chairs, sunscreen, sunglasses, and water to enjoy the largest 4th of July parade in Florida!

Brooksville

Firecracker Smash’m Up Demolition Derby & Fireworks

Date: July 4, 4:00-10:00 pm

Location: Hernando County Fairgrounds, 6436 Broad St. (US-41S), Brooksville, FL 33601

Cost: Tickets for Demolition Derby $10 for 13 yrs and up; $5 for 4 to 12 yrs old; 3 and under are free. Parking is $5. No admission charge to come in and enjoy the food, fun, and fireworks. Separate charges for bounce houses and laser tag.

Details: Celebrate America with a day filled with fun for the WHOLE family. There’s games, bounce houses, laser tag, food, music, crafts, vendors and more!

Clearwater

Clearwater Celebrates America

Date: July 4  Gates open at 6:00 pm. Fireworks at 9-9:30 pm

Details: Celebrate this fourth of July with the largest fireworks show in the Tampa Bay area! This free and family-friendly celebration is going down at Coachman Park in downtown Clearwater. Enjoy music, food, drinks, local vendors and more family-friendly activities.

The 2019 Clearwater 4th Of July Apple Pie Run

Date: July 4, Check-in opens at 8 am. The race begins at 9 am.

Cost: $35

Details: Come on out to Clearwater for a fun race and receive an all American apple pie finisher’s medal! It’s the perfect way to start your day with a family-friendly 5K run or walk on Independence Day. All finishers will also receive a Race Local technical shirt, a free food sampler and a free beer for everyone over the age of 21.

Dade City

El Cuatrofest

Date: July 4 from 5:00 PM – 11:00 PM

Cost: $25 carload; VIP per person $40

Details: This year’s event will feature music, watermelon eating contests, artisan vendors, food trucks, beer & wine garden, full cash bars, cornhole contest, lawn games, DJ’s, dancing, and a fireworks show.

Dunedin

Light up the Park

Gulfport’s 4th of July Celebration

Details: Celebrate Independence Day all day long with fun kids activities, a family sand sculpting contest, a fishing derby, parade, food & arts and crafts vendors along with live entertainment!

Largo

4th of July Celebration

Date: July 4, 6 pm, Fireworks around 9:15 pm

Location: 101 Central Park Dr. Largo, FL 33771

Cost: Free Admission, $10 wristbands for sale, on-site, for inflatables & video game truck. On-Site Parking: $10 (cash only). Parking at Largo High School is $5.

Details: Family and friends can enjoy great food, entertainment, and activities for all ages, followed by a spectacular fireworks show. There will be face painting, balloon animals, pie eating contest, backyard games, races, and a photo booth.

Plant City

July 4th Celebration

Date: July 4,  6:00 pm- 9:30 pm

Location: Plant City Stadium – 1810 East Park Road, Plant City, FL 33563

Cost: FREE. $5 per car parking.

Details: This will be a family-friendly, alcohol-free event filled with fun activities. There will be a rock wall, bungee jumper, face painting, corn hole, and inflatables.  Food vendors on site as well as the concession stand.

Safety Harbor

4th of July Celebration

Date:  July 4, 5:00 pm–9:00 pm

Cost: FREE

Details: Safety Harbor will host a July 4th Celebration with children’s activities, live entertainment along with food vendors and plenty of fun for the whole family. Fireworks start at 9:00 pm.

Spring Hill

Red, White and Brew Fest

Date:  July 3, 5:00-10:00 pm

Location: Anderson Snow Park, 1360 Anderson Snow Rd Spring Hill, FL 3460

Cost: FREE. Parking is $5 per vehicle.

Details: Enjoy food trucks, vendors, crafters, Inflatable Party Express kids area, multiple Beer/Wine tents, 2 amazing bands, a salute to Veteran’s and of course FIREWORKS! Bring lawn chairs or blankets, sunscreen, bug spray and cash for vendors. NO pets!

St. Petersburg

Fireworks Across the Bay Celebration

Date: July 4, 9:00 pm

Details: Grab your lawn chairs and come watch the spectacular fireworks display over Tampa Bay! Fireworks begin at 9 p.m. at St. Pete’s Spa Beach Park.

Rock the Beach

Date: July 4, 2:00 pm – 9:00 pm

Details: Free live music by the Brian Caudill Band and headliner Stormbringer, followed by a fireworks spectacular!

Tampa

Boom by the Bay

Date: July 4th,  Activities will begin between 4:00 and 6:00 pm, depending on location. The fireworks are scheduled for 9:00 pm

Location: Waterworks Park/Armature Works, Julian B Lane Riverfront Park, The Tampa Convention Center/The Sail and Sparkman Wharf

Cost: FREE

Details:  This 4th of July celebration will feature family-friendly activities, live entertainment, and four firework displays along 2.5 miles of Tampa’s waterfront. This will be a unique event to the City of Tampa for residents of all ages to enjoy.  

Fish of July Fireworks Cruise

Details: Come aboard our Bay Spirit II and experience downtown Tampa’s fireworks display from the decks of The Florida Aquarium’s 72-foot catamaran.

Fish of July Celebration

Date: July 4, 5:00 – 9:30 PM

Details: Celebrate The Fish of July with extended hours at the Florida Aquarium. Play in the splash pad and explore the exhibits. Beginning at 8:30 PM, guests can find a spot in the Outdoor Plaza to view the Boom by the Bay Fireworks expected to start at 9 PM. Café Ray and Concessions will be open until 9:00 PM. VIP guests will enjoy premium rooftop access with a “fish-eye” view of downtown Tampa’s Boom by the Bay, an exclusive All-American Hot Dog Bar with DIY gourmet toppings accompanied by your favorite Fish of July sides and desserts, along with specialty drinks from the Ultimate Red, White and Booze Bar.

American Victory Ship’s Freedom Fest

Details: The AMERICAN VICTORY SHIP will host a viewing of Tampa’s Boom by the Bay July 4th Fireworks aboard the historic World War II steamship and national landmark. The evening event features musical entertainment from DJ Reko, a special Kids Zone with two face painters from 6:30-8:30 pm, games, arts, and crafts. Fireworks scheduled at 9 pm. Refreshments will be available for purchase from some of your favorite local food vendors! Beer and wine are available as well.

4th of July Fireworks

Date: July 4, Fireworks at 9:30 p.m. Park closes at 11:00 p.m.

Celebrate ‘Merica Night

Heights 4th of July Festival

Date: July 4, 10:00 am – 9:30 pm

Details: This all-day affair will kick off with a classic American Car Show, followed by a Hot Dog Eating Contest, live music all afternoon on the Yuengling Riverfront Stage, a YMCA sponsored Family Fun Zone on the West Lawn, and ending with a spectacular, 20-minute public fireworks display over the Hillsborough River.

Glazer Children’s Museum 4th of July

Tampa Red White and Blue Festival

Details: RSVP is not required but with RSVP your name is automatically entered into our gate prize raffle of hourly giveaways! There will be live music, FREE Blue Bunny ice cream, crafts, American dishes and Uncle Sam on stilts. Come representing in your patriotic colors for the Best Dressed Contest! We will be kicking off the fest with a Patriotic Paw Walk on Channelside between Madison Street and Meridian Street to officially welcome all to the Tampa Red White & Blue Festival! Come with your doggies (leashed) in their patriotic attire to participate in the Patriotic Paw Walk! Don’t miss out later in the evening for the Best Dressed Dog Contest also!

Star Spangled Sparkman

Details: This will be the ultimate Retro Summer Party with the best views of the City of Tampa fireworks show!

Tarpon Springs

Fourth of July Picnic in Craig Park

Details: Bring the family to enjoy a water slide, paddle boarding, inflatables, lawn games, and free hot dogs while supplies last! Save room for the hot dog eating contest at noon (ages 16 and up). Temple Terrace

45th Annual 4th of July Parade & Fireworks Celebration

Karimah Henry
Karimah is a SAHM residing in Wesley Chapel with her family. She is married to her husband of seven years. They have two adorable boys, a preschooler and a toddler. They also have a stubborn but loving dachshund who enjoys eating whatever his human brothers drops on the floor.
